Features: Marketing is an extremely important category in the economic field. For any industry's enterprise, the success or failure of marketing efforts not only directly affects whether a series of market operations—such as product development, marketing channel expansion, after-sales service, information feedback, and accurate market forecasting—can proceed in an orderly and systematic manner, but also directly or indirectly impacts the enterprise's image and reputation in the market and among consumers. All of this inevitably has a crucial influence on the enterprise's economic efficiency. Therefore, marketing, as both an ancient and a novel subject, has been placed before modern enterprises and marketing professionals.
From a macro perspective, the basic qualities that marketing professionals should possess include: the ability to skillfully adjust established marketing strategies in response to changes in the market at any given time, seizing fleeting market opportunities; the capability to independently solve problems that arise at any stage of the marketing process; the ability to understand and master the current state and potential near-term trends of the specialized marketing field they are engaged in; and the ability to propose practical and realistic improvement suggestions for the products they sell. However, what is even more important, and the standard for measuring the performance of marketing professionals, is their ability to leverage their marketing theories and knowledge to effectively carry out their responsibilities, creating significant economic benefits for the enterprise.
With the increasing popularity of the Internet and the accelerating process of global economic integration, the once vast international market has become increasingly narrow, and the emergence of the Internet has bridged the distance between borders. At the same time, the knowledge economy and information society have integrated the global market into a huge, unified market where spatial and temporal differences no longer exist. As a result, the objective realities of social development have placed modern enterprises in an international marketing environment, while the virtual online shopping, centered around the Internet, has also emerged as a new marketing field.
In summary, the "product-oriented" marketing of the 21st century will gradually shift to a "consumer-centric" approach. Products launched by enterprises toward the market must meet consumer demands and continuously innovate based on their needs, striving to perfect the enterprise's product line. At the same time, the focus of marketing management will shift from previously emphasizing the growth of business volume to emphasizing product management, continuously reducing product costs, improving production efficiency, and perfecting product performance, while expanding the enterprise's business scope and enhancing consumer loyalty to the enterprise and its brand.
Because of the role marketing plays in market economic activities, and because the success or failure of marketing efforts is crucial to the survival of the enterprise, marketing issues have increasingly attracted people's attention.
