Features: A Chinese version of "La Dame aux Camélias," one of Zhang Henshu's representative long novels. It was adapted into a 40-episode television series titled "Red Powder Family" in the 1940s, featuring a strong cast and broadcast during prime time across the country. Young painter Yu Shuicun and Qinhuai courtesan Li Taozhi fall in love at first sight and become deeply infatuated. To help Yu Shuicun gain fame, Li Taozhi sacrifices her virtue. Later, due to various misunderstandings, Li Taozhi marries a wealthy banker in anger. Yu Shuicun watches the wedding scene and becomes drunk, leaving in a fit of despair. Li Taozhi chases after a riverboat, only to find it caught in a fire. In an attempt to save Yu Shuicun, she perishes in the flames.
