The poem "For Punishing Poetry to Compete with the Power of Creation" by Bai Juyi and Liu Yuxi is a very profound poetic theory. But what is the essence of poetry? I have always struggled with this level. To be punished for writing poetry means to compete with creation for skill and ingenuity. I know it is extremely difficult for me, but this attempt will continue to inspire me.
