Features: As the first of the "Five Classics Rectifications," the Zhоу Yì Zhèngyì (Rectification of the Book of Changes) has long been established in academic institutions, marking the transition of Chinese I Ching studies from the stage of school-based development to the stage of school integration and unification. It is the most important classic in the history of I Ching studies, second only to the canonical texts. The original text used for the collation of this book was the combined edition, but during collation, the research achievements of historical I Ching scholars on this book were incorporated, and a simplified horizontal layout was adopted for easier reading and study. This book is divided into two volumes. There are many posthumous transmissions of the Zhоу Yì Zhèngyì, some titled Annotations and Explanations of the Book of Changes, or Comprehensive Meanings of the Book of Changes. However, based on the preface by the author and the Old Book of Tang and New Book of Tang, it can be determined that Zhоу Yì Zhèngyì was the original title of the book. Efforts were made to exclude various interpretations of the I Ching based on Buddhist, Taoist, and other metaphysical philosophies during the Northern and Southern Dynasties period, and relatively few references were made to the Northern Dynasties school of mathematical I Ching. The book primarily provides explanations for the annotations of Wang and Han, and supplements and corrects their I Ching studies based on the principles-based school of I Ching between the Han and Tang dynasties.
