Design, Procurement, and Construction (EPC): EPC

Author: China Engineering Consultancy Association of the FIDIC
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2002-05-01
Features: This new English edition of the "Design-Buy-Construct (EPC) / Turnkey Project Contract Conditions" (Chinese-English Parallel Edition) is prepared by the FIDIC (International Federation of Consulting Engineers) and compiled and finalized by experts organized by the China Engineering Consultancy Association, the FIDIC member association in China. This book is not based on modifications of FIDIC's previous contracts but is entirely rewritten and newly launched. It inherits the advantages of FIDIC's original contract conditions and has undergone significant adjustments based on years of practical experience, as well as suggestions and opinions from experts, scholars, and all relevant parties. The book includes the general conditions of the Design-Buy-Construct (EPC) / Turnkey Project Contract, an agreement on dispute resolution with general conditions, a writing guide for specific conditions, formats for various guarantee letters, as well as formats for the bid letter, contract agreement, and agreement on dispute resolution. This book is recommended for providing processing or power equipment, factories or similar facilities, infrastructure projects, or other types of development projects in a turnkey manner. This approach (i) provides a higher degree of certainty regarding the final price and required duration of the project, and (ii) entrusts the entire design and implementation responsibilities to the contractor with minimal involvement from the employer. Typically, in turnkey projects, the contractor undertakes all design, procurement, and construction (EPC), delivering a fully equipped facility that is ready for operation ("turning the key").
Target Audience: Engineering consulting firms, departments and organizations engaged in investment, finance, and project management, various project owners, construction supervision enterprises, engineering contracting enterprises, environmental protection enterprises, accounting/law firms, insurance companies, and relevant universities and institutions.
