The first volume primarily defines the concepts and connotations of Lu Xun studies and the history of Lu Xun studies, clarifies the significance of researching the history of Lu Xun studies, and outlines the framework and key points of this book. It provides a macroscopic description of the development history of Lu Xun studies as a 20th-century Chinese spiritual and cultural phenomenon.
The second volume offers a microscopic perspective on some thematic studies of Lu Xun research, conducting an academic review of major thematic historical studies such as the history of Wild Grass, the history of Ah Q, the history of the Madman, the history of New Stories of Ancient Times, and the history of prose. It also engages in rational reflection on the relationship between the Lu Xun essence and the Lu Xun image in Lu Xun studies, academic philosophical issues, and the bidirectional interaction between Lu Xun studies and the spiritual liberation and intellectual transformation of 20th-century China.
The index volume provides an index of key works and materials on Lu Xun studies in 20th-century China, divided into a chronological index and a thematic index, arranged in chronological order and academic themes respectively for easy retrieval. This book covers only the mainland part of China; the Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan regions are excluded except for a few exceptions.
