The family is very worried and has seen many doctors. They want to know if cerebral palsy can be cured. What kind of help they would like to receive: Can cerebral palsy be cured?

Doctor's answer:

Cerebral palsy, also known as CP, typically refers to a group of non-progressive motor disorders caused by various reasons that result in brain damage or developmental abnormalities in the central nervous system from before birth to one month after birth. Clinical diagnosis is characterized by abnormal posture and muscle tone, muscle weakness, involuntary movements, and ataxia. It is often accompanied by sensory, perceptual, communication, and gait disorders, as well as secondary skeletal muscle abnormalities, and may also include seizures. Non-progressive central motor disorders caused by various reasons after one month of birth are sometimes referred to as acquired cerebral palsy, accounting for about 10% of childhood cerebral palsy.
