How to Implement Intellectual Training for a Child with Cerebral Palsy

Patient's question:

The child next door has cerebral palsy. It took me a long time to realize it after they moved in. He's only four years old, but he seems quite vacant. At first, I thought he was just shy and didn't want to communicate, but later I discovered that there's also an issue with his intelligence. The parents said he needs acupuncture every week. As for his intellectual development, they feel helpless.
What kind of help is needed: Cerebral palsy in children, how can I train his intelligence and functions?

Doctor's answer:

The child has cerebral palsy and is only four years old, but appears. Every week, he needs to be taken for acupuncture. It is estimated that if timely treatment and rehabilitation training are not provided for cerebral palsy, it may lead to lifelong disability and even death. For the special training that involves head compression, the child can be placed in a prone position with special eye-raising exercises. A toy can be held at eye level, and gradually moved higher to encourage the child to lift his eyes to look at it. For upper limb and hand function training, one hand can grasp the outer side of the child's elbow while the other firmly holds his hand, lifting and abducting his arm. Lower limb exercises include squatting, rotational movements, single-leg standing, knee joint flexion and extension, and dorsiflexion of the foot.
