Features: Neuropathology is a fundamental discipline in neurology and neurosurgery. Given the rapid development of high technology in recent years, it is closely related to several clinical disciplines and their derived interdisciplinary fields, such as neurosurgery, neurology, neuroophthalmology, neurootolaryngology, geriatric neurology, pediatric neurology, neurogenetics, perinatal and neonatal neurology, neuroimaging, as well as neuropathology, neurobiochemistry, neuroimmunology, and neuromolecular biology, etc. Therefore, the prospects of this discipline are extremely broad. The senior pioneers in neuropathology are not only experts in clinical neurology but also specialists in neuropathology. When discussing clinical cases, they often analyze clinical symptoms, signs, disease progression, and diagnosis based on pathological changes at different stages of the disease. Ultimately, the pathological findings reveal the final diagnosis. When writing textbooks, papers, and works, pathological topics are also introduced. With the rapid development of imaging technology, modern imaging techniques such as CT, CTA, MRI, MRA, and DSI of the head and spine have. The imaging manifestations of various diseases are essentially responses to pathological changes, providing significant assistance in the diagnosis of neurological diseases. The manifestations of pathological changes on CT and MRI at different times are all different. Clinicians often read only textual descriptions of certain pathological changes from some books, lacking visual observations of the gross and microscopic pathological changes of the nervous system and its surrounding tissues, i.e., lacking corresponding color photographs of the lesions. Therefore, the editors of this book strive to make some contributions in this regard. The editors have compiled decades of accumulated experience and materials, aiming to present a large number of colored pathological photographs to the readers in a complete, systematic, authentic, and accurate manner. The accumulated materials include not only common and frequent diseases but also rare and uncommon cases, all presented as original-color, high-quality photographs. The difficulty of creating these original-color, high-quality images is immense. However, the editors sincerely hope that this book will benefit doctors, masters, and doctoral students in clinical pathology, neuropathology, neurology, neurosurgery, neuroimaging, and related disciplines, as well as clinical and research workers! During the compilation, the editors were greatly helped and guided by Prof. Huang Congxin, Vice President of Wuhan University, Dean of the Graduate School of Wuhan University, and President of Renmin Hospital of Wuhan University, as well as Prof. Tang Qizhu, Vice President of Renmin Hospital of Wuhan University, among others. Special thanks are hereby extended to them! Due to the limited knowledge level of the editors, there may be inaccuracies or errors in the compilation. We sincerely invite readers and Niger] to point them out and warmly welcome your valuable feedback.
