Features: This book compiles four conversations between Mao Zedong and Edgar Snow in 1936, 1939, 1965, and 1970, along with relevant background materials. The 1936 conversation was carefully proofread by the translator Wu Liping at the time, and our press published it as a standalone book titled "Mao Zedong's Conversations with Edgar Snow in 1936" in 1979. The 1939 and 1965 conversations are selected from the book "Snow in China," published by Sanlian Bookstore in 1982; the 1970 conversation is selected from the book "Articles by American Friends on Snow's Visit to China," published by Sanlian Bookstore in 1971. All four conversations were dictated by Mao Zedong, with the 1936 conversation also reviewed and approved by him personally. These conversations express his own views and include scientific foresights, making them exceptionally rare and highly important. Upon their public release, they caused a sensation and were widely circulated both within and outside China, influencing generations. To this day, they remain a crucial basis for understanding and studying this great leader.
