Features: With the deepening of reform and opening-up, foreign languages have played an increasingly important role in enabling a wide range of medical and healthcare professionals to learn advanced foreign experience and technology, as well as expanding international exchanges. To meet the growing needs of foreign exchanges and overseas dispatch channels within China's healthcare system, the National Medical Examination Center, under the commission of the Ministry of Health, has been organizing foreign language exams for the selection of candidates for overseas training programs since 1987, on behalf of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Hasegawa Medical Scholarship. In 1993, the exam was named the "State Foreign Languages Proficiency Test for Medical Staff" (SFLPT for short), providing opportunities for medical and healthcare professionals in China to enhance their professional qualifications and participate in international exchanges, thus actively contributing to the development of China's healthcare industry. To ensure the smooth operation of the exam and in response to the requests of numerous examinees, the National Medical Examination Center has organized relevant experts to compile the "Guide to the National Healthcare System Foreign Language Proficiency Test." The book consists of three parts: "Test Syllabus," "Test Sample Questions and Answers," and "Test Instructions." The "Test Syllabus" includes syllabi for five languages—English, Japanese, German, French, and Russian. The "Test Sample Questions and Answers" features two sets of English and two sets of Japanese questions, while German, French, and Russian each have one set. We sincerely hope that candidates will gain a better understanding of the scope, methods, vocabulary, and standards of the National Healthcare System Foreign Language Proficiency Test after using this book and achieve excellent results in the exam.
