A total of 209 news works won awards, including 33 first prizes, 69 second prizes, and 108 third prizes. In 2001, the new century began, and journalists across the country, under the leadership of the Party Central Committee with Comrade Jiang Zemin at its core, studied, publicized, and implemented the important thought of "Three Represents." In the promotion and reporting of major events such as the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Party, the successful bid for the 2008 Beijing Olympics, the Shanghai APEC Summit, China's entry into the WTO, and the thorough exposure of the "Falun Gong" cult, the works demonstrated correct guidance, clear themes, and focused highlights, contributing to uniting the public, consolidating morale, promoting reform and development, maintaining social stability, and creating a positive atmosphere. The award-winning works reflect the significant achievements of Chinese journalists last year.
