Features: As a modern Chinese university that has operated for 110 years, Shanghai Jiao Tong University has long been connected with Kunqu Opera. The former president Tang Wenzhi not only founded the renowned Wuxi National College, which was celebrated in academic circles, but also personally recorded Kunqu Opera records at Shanghai Record Company. When we held the international academic symposium "The Palace of Eternal Life" in collaboration with the Suzhou Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism at Jiao Tong University and invited the Suzhou Kunqu "The Palace of Eternal Life" troupe to the campus, the 1,300-year-old Li-Yang love story, the 300-year-old masterpiece "The Palace of Eternal Life" by Hong Sheng, and the century-old artistic and cultural heritage of Jiao Tong University were all historically and logically integrated. This is the complete 28-curtain "The Palace of Eternal Life," the first time it has ever been performed in mainland universities. The Jiao Tong University Jingjing Hall has a total of 1,800 seats. "The Palace of Eternal Life," with its three volumes (upper, middle, and lower), is performed for about three hours each night. About one-third of Jiao Tong University's students come from Shanghai, and they usually go home on weekends to be spoiled and have meals. The organizers' publicity department of the Party Committee, the Youth League Committee and Student Union, and the School of Humanities all had their hearts in their throats when they held a large-scale performance of a multi-act Kunqu Opera, which lasted for three consecutive nights. In such a huge theater, if the number of actors on stage was more than the audience in the audience, how embarrassing would that be! If there was a "great escape" scene where the theater was full at the start but everyone drew lots and left afterwards, how boring would that be!
