Features: Still life painting in color is a mandatory subject for entrance exams in art majors at higher education institutions and one of the fundamental methods for color training. The purpose of studying still life painting in color is to cultivate the ability to depict the texture, volume, space, and tonal relationships of still life using color language. Students with excellent performance often form their unique styles after extensively copying sample paintings and then absorbing and integrating them, thereby gaining recognition from examiners. This demonstrates the importance of copying sample paintings in both exam-oriented education and basic education. When compiling exam-oriented books, our publishing house adheres to the principle of "serving society and caring for candidates," and timelyly releases the "Still Life Monochrome Color Training" series. This series is written by experienced teachers who work as examiners in universities and have research on exam-oriented education. The subjects chosen for sketching are those that are easy to depict and frequently appear in exams, such as ceramic pots, fruits, vases, vegetables, and beverages. The main focus is on training how to express these objects with different shapes, colors, and textures through the unique color effects of watercolor. For students with some painting experience, we have added the copying of glassware and some stainless steel products to enhance their understanding of special textures like transparency and metal, in order to adapt to the increasing difficulty of exam conditions. Color is emotional, and people's perception of color varies depending on their cultivation, preferences, and moods. Therefore, the cultivation of color control skills is not limited to copying. Only through continuous accumulation in study and life—by observing, copying, and reflecting—can one create emotionally resonant artworks. It is hoped that through the copying practice in this book, it can open the door for students who are at the threshold of the art.
