Features: Part of the "Xiamen University College of Overseas Education Overseas Chinese Language Education Series," this book discusses psychological issues in teaching Chinese as a second language. The main contents include: student perspectives and teaching Chinese as a second language practice, learning theories and the learning process of Chinese as a foreign language, teachers and teaching Chinese as a second language practice, mental health education for international students, etc. This book was written by the author, sitting in front of the computer in office room 308 of the College of Overseas Education at Xiamen University, typing one word at a time. When she first moved in, the kapok trees outside the window were in full bloom, with large, bright orange flowers hanging from the branches, bare of leaves, yet possessing an indescribable beauty. Accompanied by the lonely tapping of the keyboard every day, her heart felt a sense of tranquility and detachment, yet also an inexplicable sense of heaviness and helplessness. This book is intended as a teaching material or self-study reference for teacher training in teaching Chinese as a second language. Its purpose is to connect theory with practice, apply research findings in educational psychology from both domestic and international contexts to teaching Chinese as a second language, and strive to form a preliminary systematic framework to provide reference and convenience for readers (such as Chinese language teachers, administrators, and international students). Many of the arguments in this book are not the author's original insights; what she has done is to select and organize various theories and research findings.
