Features: After the Third National Education Conference, the "Decision of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council on Deepening Education Reform and Comprehensively Promoting Quality Education" was issued. In 2001, the State Council held the National Basic Education Conference and promulgated the "Decision of the State Council on Basic Education Reform and Development." The Ministry of Education also issued the "Outline for the Curriculum Guidance of Basic Education." The promulgation of this series of documents has played a significant role in promoting the development of China's basic education. At the same time, it has also brought profound changes to our educational philosophy, teaching methods, and learning strategies. To help teachers and students better use the People's Education Press experimental textbooks for compulsory education curriculum standards, we organized the compilation of this series, "New Textbooks, New Learning Plans." This series embodies the following educational concepts:
Focus on the guidance of teachers in teaching, but more on the subjectivity of students.
Focus on students' academic performance, but more on the cultivation and development of their moral character, aesthetic awareness, scientific spirit, and humanistic spirit.
Focus on the evaluation of content and terminal learning outcomes, but more on the evaluation of formative and extended abilities.
Focus on the scientific teaching of knowledge, but also on the use of extensive extracurricular educational resources.
Focus on existing successful classroom teaching models, but more on the innovation of teaching models using modern educational concepts.
Focus on students' learning process, but more on stimulating their interest, as well as their emotional experiences and value formation during the learning process.
The times are advancing, and educational concepts are also evolving with the times. The experimental implementation of the new curriculum standards is steadily progressing. From recognition and acceptance to creating valuable practical outcomes, frontline teachers still have a process to go through. To help teachers better embrace the new curriculum, we organized a team of curriculum experts, experienced teachers from People's Education Press experimental areas, and teaching and research personnel to compile this series. We welcome readers to provide feedback and suggestions for reference in the revision of the second edition.
