Features: As one of the leading industries in the development of China's agricultural modernization, the dairy industry plays a significant role in national economic development, food safety, and the improvement of the nation's physical health. The dairy industry in China has developed rapidly, achieving substantial progress in raw milk production, dairy processing, and consumption. However, the industry's uncoordinated development has also become increasingly apparent. Excessive competition has led to conflicts over milk sources, price wars, and potential quality issues in dairy products, threatening the sustainable development of the industry. Therefore, studying the formation mechanisms of excessive competition in the dairy industry, exploring its evolutionary patterns, and identifying pathways to achieve effective competition are not only of great practical significance and policy value for promoting the rapid and healthy development of the dairy industry but also provide valuable insights for the resource integration and healthy growth of other emerging industries. Based on theoretical analysis of excessive competition in industries, this book conducts an empirical study on excessive competition in the dairy industry. Through field investigations and questionnaires, it analyzes the current issues of excessive competition in China's dairy industry. Game theory is applied to examine the contractual relationships between raw milk producers and dairy enterprises, the market structure of the dairy industry, the non-cooperative strategic competitive behavior of dairy enterprises, and the market demand for dairy products—all of which influence the intensity of competition in the dairy industry. By comparing the development of the dairy industry with that of other countries, the book proposes a normative model for effective competition in the dairy industry.
