Features: The reading materials and question-setting style for the TEM-4 (Test for English Majors-Band 4) are more challenging than those for College English, placing greater emphasis on candidates' ability to apply various basic skills and their mastery of grammatical structures and word usage. The TEM-4 syllabus specifies that the Reading Comprehension section consists of two parts (Section A and Section B). Section A consists of several short passages totaling approximately 1,500 words, followed by 15 multiple-choice questions, requiring candidates to complete the test within 25 minutes based on the content, implied meaning, and characteristics of the passages. Section B tests candidates' speed-reading skills, comprising several short passages of about 900 words, followed by 10 multiple-choice questions, which require candidates to use speed-reading and skimming techniques to complete the test within 5 minutes based on the passage content. Therefore, the articles selected for the exam are far more advanced than ordinary English reading materials. In light of this, we have carefully selected a collection of articles with higher difficulty and some out-of-syllabus vocabulary to fully meet the candidates' practical training needs.
