Features: The role and significance of museums in the contemporary cultural tide are increasingly being recognized. The current challenge is to conduct research on more specialized topics, and for domestic museums, learning from advanced international experiences is undoubtedly crucial. This issue focuses on the relationship between museum image materials and museum management. Topics include the management of museum artifact image materials, copyright and related issues of digital photographic works, discussions on image issues in foreign museums (including the future prospects of museum and art museum photographers, digital image management at the British Museum, the application of digital photography at the National Maritime Museum, the photographic history of the Tate Modern in the UK, providing diverse images for urban history museums, and social documentary photography at the Victoria and Albert Museum, among others). The Guangdong Museum has been making dedicated efforts to promote the development of contemporary Chinese photography, exploring exhibition, collection, and management models for photographic artworks. We hope to engage more photographers and cultural heritage management experts in this discussion.
