Golden Pasture - Representative Novels of Famous Contemporary Chinese Writers

Author: Zhang Chengzhi
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2007-01-01
Features: In the 1950s and 1960s, our publishing house organized the publication of selections of outstanding long novels nationwide, showcasing the style and level of long novel creation at that time. After the new period, the number of long novels increased significantly, with themes, styles, and techniques becoming increasingly diverse. To more comprehensively reflect the achievements of long novel creation during this period, in May 2004, we edited and published the series "Representative Works of Famous Contemporary Chinese Novelists," featuring the works of twenty-five writers. These works excelled in depth, uniqueness, or had sparked strong responses, or were widely enjoyed by readers. The series received positive social feedback after publication. For this re-publication, we adjusted the original series' selection, adding more works, while including those that won the Mao Dun Literature Prize in the "Complete Collection of Mao Dun Literature Prize Winners." As a result, the selection of "Representative Works of Famous Contemporary Chinese Novelists" is more complete and comprehensive, and it aligns with our previously published series "Contemporary Chinese Long Novels Collection" and "Complete Collection of Mao Dun Literature Prize Winners," allowing readers to gain a clearer understanding of the development trajectory and overall style of long novel creation since the founding of the People's Republic of China from different stages and perspectives.
