Features: The concepts of this book primarily originate from the research achievements of two national-level research projects led by the author ("Research on the Unified Nature of Spatial Visual Design and Lighting Energy Conservation Based on the Concept of Luminance Space" and "Theoretical Model Research on the Dynamic Integration of Light and Space in Architectural Environments"). Architect Louis Kahn once said, "Designing space is designing light." It can be said that architects and lighting designers share a common goal: shaping the visual imagery of space. Under this goal, how should architects fundamentally understand the role of light in space, and how should lighting design adopt a "perspective-taking" approach, understanding the relationship between light and space from the architect's viewpoint and stance? This book constructs its design theory system based on this starting point, ensuring that lighting design and architectural design not only share a common goal but also a common concept and design context. The book strives to transcend professional boundaries, with the shaping of spatial visual imagery as its core, treating architectural design and lighting design as a form of spatial visual design. From an epistemological perspective, it reexamines the fundamental concepts of the relationship between light and space, explores the basic connotations of spatial visual design, and derives concepts and methods for light and space design.
