Features: In recent years, many publishers have released popular science books, but most of them are imported editions. Imported books aim for comprehensiveness but fail to provide thorough and detailed explanations for each concept, and the knowledge covered lacks resonance with modern children. Additionally, cultural and reading differences between China and the West make these science books unattractive to children. The high prices also deter many parents from purchasing them. A new question arises: What kind of popular science books are truly needed by Chinese children? After several years of market research and reflection, we have gained some insights.
To expand the scope of popular science books, we should add content that interests children to the existing categories of popular science books, such as automobiles, military, and sports. Only by capturing children's attention can we cultivate their learning habits and further introduce them to the rich and diverse encyclopedic knowledge in the books.
Second, we should select knowledge that children do not learn in their textbooks, such as mysteries, arts, and etiquette. These topics can better broaden their horizons and enrich their knowledge.
Third, we should extend the knowledge that children have already mastered and appropriately expand the breadth and depth of familiar knowledge. With these ideas in mind, we took bold attempts, adopting new writing and production methods to publish some popular science categories that children enjoy. These books have received positive feedback in the market, and the market response has further confirmed our goals and strengthened our confidence.
The positioning of the 360° Panoramic Encyclopedia Series is as the "New Century Dictionary" for Chinese children's encyclopedic books. The content is pursued to be accurate, detailed, concise, and in tune with the times, while also emphasizing fun, readability, and artistic quality. It transforms encyclopedic books that are often left on the shelf into engaging reading materials for children.
The purpose of this series is to help children develop proper learning methods, pay attention to science, and accumulate rich popular science knowledge.
