Features: According to the "Opinions on Strengthening Undergraduate Textbook Work in Higher Education Institutions and Improving Teaching Quality" proposed by the Ministry of Education in 2001, which states that "to adapt to the challenges of economic globalization and technological revolution, undergraduate education should create conditions to use English and other foreign languages for public or specialized course teaching," as well as the requirements of the Ministry of Education for undergraduate teaching quality assessment that stipulates a certain bilingual teaching component, in response to the current lack of English textbooks for infectious disease teaching, the authors were commissioned to compile an English textbook on infectious diseases for undergraduate medical students. This book was co-authored by professors from more than 20 higher medical colleges in China who have rich teaching experience in frontline work and have returned from studying abroad. It adopts a unique writing approach to comprehensively and systematically summarize the core content and cutting-edge developments in infectious diseases, including various common infectious diseases prevalent and emerging in China. The book is written in an accessible and review-friendly format, enabling students to quickly and accurately grasp relevant infectious disease knowledge and effectively guide their learning and exams. The English expressions in the book were revised by Professor Jielei from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and Professor James Kang from Loyola University. The use of English in the book is natural, standardized, and easy to understand. After the final compilation, the book was specially reviewed by Professor Weng Xinhua, Chairman of the Infectious Diseases Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, and Professor Wang Yuming, Vice Chairman of the Infectious Diseases Branch of the Chinese Medical Association and Professor at Southwest Hospital, the Third Military Medical University.
