Based on a thorough understanding and grasp of the current state of prose creation, they repeatedly deliberated, debated, and judged the value of the works, thereby winnowing the wheat from the chaff. The selected works include those deeply moving or thought-provoking, widely praised in reality, and having broad influence, as well as those that withstand the test of time and possess artistic charm. Additionally, works that take unconventional approaches and exhibit a certain pioneering and exploratory nature are included, all chosen and compiled to fulfill the trust and expectations of the era and readers, and to fulfill our responsibility to the cause of contemporary Chinese literature.
