Features: To organize and summarize the achievements of prose creation in China in 2006, the Chinese Prose Association selected 91 outstanding prose pieces from the vast pool of prose works. After careful deliberation and research by a specially formed selection committee, 10 exemplary works were chosen and presented to the who are passionate about prose. During the selection and evaluation process, we adhered to artistic quality, professionalism, fairness, and literary conscience. The judges closely monitored and tracked the prose creation in the country over the past year, reading nearly all prose works published in publicly distributed periodicals. With a thorough understanding and grasp of the current state of prose creation, they repeatedly deliberated, debated, and judged the value of the works, thereby sifting through the sand to select the best. These included works with novel and insightful arguments, those that broke new ground and provoked thought, or those with sharp intellectual edge, critically addressing customs and traditions, offering readers an eye-opening and thought-provoking experience. The selected works were compiled to fulfill the trust and expectations of the era and readers, and to uphold our responsibility to the cause of contemporary Chinese literature.
