Patient's question:
Left eye blurry, unable to see clearly for about ten days. Test and examination results: Treatment history and effectiveness of glaucoma: Currently being treated. What kind of help is desired: Hello expert, how is the treatment? Will the inflammation in the left eye affect the right eye?Doctor's answer:
The treatment for glaucoma is to reduce or control intraocular pressure, forcing aqueous humor to drain out. Therefore, based on the etiology and pathogenesis of glaucoma, either medication or surgical treatment can be chosen. Primary open-angle glaucoma must be treated with medication first, using beta-blockers to inhibit aqueous humor production, such as 0.5% timolol or 0.25% betaxolol. If intraocular pressure control is unsatisfactory, miotics such as 1% pilocarpine can be added to widen the trabecular meshwork spaces and enhance aqueous humor drainage. Primary angle-closure glaucoma must be treated with surgery once diagnosed.
