Features: A Selection of Chinese Historical Poetry is a textbook compiled for the Selection of Chinese Poetry course in Chinese departments of higher education institutions. Considering the practical needs of classroom instruction and students' self-study time, the entire book selects one thousand poems (including ci and qu, etc.), aiming to fundamentally reflect the outstanding achievements of classical Chinese poetry. Each poem is accompanied by a brief author bio and annotations. The book is divided into two volumes. The first volume consists of two parts, covering poetry from the Zhou Dynasty to the Five Dynasties (including the Ten Kingdoms), with a total of 550 poems, edited by Lin Geng. The second volume also consists of two parts, covering poetry from the Song and Yuan Dynasties to the May Fourth Movement, with a total of 450 poems, edited by Feng Yuanjun.
