"City of Snow (Volumes 1 & 2)" Editor's Recommendation: In the 1950s and 1960s, our publishing house organized the publication of a nationwide selection of outstanding long novels, showcasing the style and level of long novel creation at that time. After the new era, the number of long novels increased significantly, with themes, styles, and techniques becoming increasingly diverse. To more comprehensively reflect the achievements of long novel creation during this period, in May 2004, we edited and published the series "Representative Works of Famous Contemporary Chinese Novelists," featuring the works of twenty-five writers. For this re-publication, we adjusted the original series list, selected additional works, and included those that had won the Mao Dun Literature Prize in the "Complete Collection of Mao Dun Literature Prize Winners." As a result, the selection of the "Representative Works of Famous Contemporary Chinese Novelists" series has become more complete and comprehensive, and it aligns with the two other series published by our house, "The Collection of Contemporary Chinese Long Novels" and "The Complete Collection of Mao Dun Literature Prize Winners." This allows readers to gain a clearer understanding of the development trajectory and overall style of long novel creation since the founding of the People's Republic of China from different stages and perspectives.
