Author: Yang Fengcheng
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2002-01-02
Features: The series corresponds to the curriculum design of Marxist Theory courses, divided into two series: "Problem Solving" and "Research Reviews."
"Problem Solving" Series—Following the "Basic Teaching Requirements," it combines the latest developments in each discipline to explain or conduct forward-looking research on difficult teaching issues from theoretical and methodological perspectives, providing clarification and insights for teachers and students.
"Research Reviews" Series—Centered around the "Basic Teaching Requirements," it comprehensively reviews research achievements and information on major issues in each course over recent years, offering new and rich reference materials for teaching and research. The series initially establishes a small teaching and research resource database for Marxist Theory instructors. We hope that a broad range of Marxist Theory teachers will actively participate in continuously improving, enriching, and expanding this database, collectively advancing the overall quality of "Two Courses" teaching and research nationwide.
The guiding principles of this book primarily include two aspects:
First, the content is organized based on the "Basic Teaching Requirements for Mao Zedong Thought" issued by the Ministry of Education. In other words, the introduction of important issues in the field of Mao Zedong Thought research aligns with these requirements, and even the design of the topics reflects this characteristic. As a result, some content or topics originally belonging to Mao Zedong Thought or the study of Mao Zedong Thought had to be reluctantly omitted, such as Mao Zedong's literary thought, philosophical thought, or military thought. This is because these topics are not considered key content in the "Introduction to Mao Zedong Thought" course at universities, or they are covered minimally or not at all.
Second, it emphasizes practicality, ensuring ease of use for instructors teaching the "Introduction to Mao Zedong Thought" course. Given the diverse backgrounds of instructors, their varying past focuses, and heavy teaching loads, we strive to provide a comprehensive introduction and evaluation of the issues involved in this book. This allows instructors to gain a systematic understanding of ongoing debates, latest developments, and existing challenges. To facilitate reading and reference for teachers, the arrangement of chapters and topics is as consistent as possible with the "Basic Teaching Requirements for Mao Zedong Thought" issued by the Ministry of Education and the chapter structure of the approved textbook "Introduction to Mao Zedong Thought," while also ensuring the completeness of research.
