Teacher qualification certificate physical examination

Patient's question:

Can the color Doppler ultrasound performed during the teacher qualification physical examination detect prostatic cysts? Does it affect teacher qualification?

Doctor's answer:

Medical Analysis: Hello, ultrasound can detect prostatic cysts. This condition should not affect your teaching qualification.
Guidance: I recommend you check the "Shandong Province Qualification Recognition Examination Standards and Operating Procedures for Teaching Qualifications."
1. Applicants with the following diseases or physical defects are considered medically disqualified:
(1) Congenital heart disease (excluding those surgically cured), frequent premature beats, abnormal ECG, cardiomyopathy, and other organic heart diseases.
(2) Blood pressure exceeding 18.66/12 kPa (140/90 mmHg) or below 11.46/7.46 kPa (86/56 mmHg). Systolic pressure exceeding 21.33 kPa (160 mmHg) or below 10.66 kPa (80 mmHg), diastolic pressure exceeding 12 kPa (90 mmHg) or below 6.66 kPa (50 mmHg).
(3) Tuberculosis, except in the following cases:
1. Primary pulmonary tuberculosis, infiltrative pulmonary tuberculosis, or hardening and stabilization. Tuberculous pleurisy that has been cured, or residual pleural thickening after cure.
2. All extrapulmonary tuberculosis (e.g., renal tuberculosis, osseous tuberculosis, peritoneal tuberculosis), hematogenous dissemination tuberculosis, with no recurrence for more than two years after cure, and confirmed by specialist examination in a secondary or higher-level hospital (or tuberculosis prevention and control center) with no changes.
3. Clinically cured lymphadenitis tuberculosis with no symptoms.
(4) Bronchiectasis that has not been cured.
(5) Chronic hepatitis patients with abnormal liver function (excluding hepatitis carriers with normal liver function). Hepatitis carriers or those with positive hepatitis B surface antigen tests applying for kindergarten teaching qualifications.
(6) Various malignant tumors, various connective tissue diseases (collagen diseases), endocrine system diseases (e.g., diabetes, diabetes insipidus, acromegaly), and blood diseases (excluding simple iron deficiency anemia).
(7) Chronic nephritis, acute nephritis with less than two years of recovery.
(8) History of epilepsy, mental illness, hysterical illness, or sleepwalking.
(9) Lung resection exceeding one lobe; lung atelectasis of more than one lobe.
(10) Ankylosing spondylitis; chronic osteomyelitis.
(11) Glaucoma; retinal and optic nerve diseases (excluding old or stable fundus diseases).
(12) Color blindness or color weakness, for applicants seeking kindergarten or special education teaching qualifications.
(13) Hearing impairment in both ears at 2 meters or below, or wearing hearing aids with hearing below 5 meters.
(14) Physical appearance, with the following disqualifications:
1. Limbs: Inability to move both upper limbs or both lower limbs; limb deformities, abnormal gait, or upper limb (especially right hand) defects affecting writing ability.
2. Body shape: Physical deformities, such as severe pectus excavatum, hunchback, or spinal curvature exceeding 3 cm; height affecting teaching ability.
3. Facial features: Unattractive facial features, large scars (3×3 cm), hemangiomas, or vitiligo.
(15) Stuttering, unclear speech, severe hoarseness, vocal cord lesions, or severe chronic pharyngitis or oral physical defects, along with ear, nose, and throat diseases that hinder speech and teaching.
2. For applicants seeking higher education teaching qualifications, secondary vocational school teaching qualifications, or secondary vocational school internship guidance qualifications, additional examination items may be added upon approval by the provincial education administrative department. The standards shall comply with the relevant provisions of the "2019 Revised Examination Standards for Admissions to Regular Universities" for related majors.
3. Examination Operating Procedures:
(1) Cardiac auscultation: Heart murmurs are graded on a six-point scale. If the pulmonary valve area is auscultated at grade 3 while the candidate is lying down and quiet, and other valve areas are grade 2, repeated auscultation confirms a physiological murmur, resulting in a "normal" conclusion.
(2) Premature beats exceeding six per minute require an immediate squatting test. If early beats disappear after exercise or occur only 1–2 times, with a normal ECG, a "normal" conclusion is given. If early beats remain above six per minute, a "not normal" conclusion is reached (based on measurements on the day of the examination). Incomplete right bundle branch block with no heart disease may also be considered "normal."
(3) Blood pressure measurement: Diastolic pressure is determined by the second sound. If blood pressure exceeds 18.66/12 kPa (140/90 mmHg) due to nervousness, accompanied by a rapid heart rate (e.g., acute hypertension), the candidate should rest for 15–30 minutes and have the measurement repeated. The lower value is recorded in the examination form. If still abnormal, appropriate rest and multiple measurements are allowed, but the results must be based on the day of the examination.
(4) Liver and spleen examination: Performed while the candidate is lying flat and breathing normally.
(5) Color vision examination: Using the "Yup Zi Ping Color Blindness Test" or the color vision test chart published by the Air Force Logistics Department Health Service. The examination must be conducted by a specialist nurse or physician.
(6) Single-color recognition ability:
1) The physician selects one color from red, yellow, green, blue, or purple wires or letters, numbers, geometric shapes, or traffic lights and asks the candidate to name the color within 5 seconds.
2) The physician names a color, and the candidate must identify the corresponding color within 5 seconds from the same set of items. The two methods are alternated. Colors correctly identified are marked with a checkmark next to their names in the examination form (no need to check if the candidate can recognize colored patterns and numbers).
(7) Visual acuity examination: Standard logarithmic vision charts are used, with results recorded using the 5-point scale. If uncorrected vision in either eye is below 4.8, corrective lenses are used to measure vision. If corrected vision remains below 4.8, fundus examination is required. If only myopic features are observed in the fundus with no other abnormalities, increasing the lens power improves distant vision. The actual corrected vision and lens power are recorded in the examination form.
(8) Hearing test: Whispered tests are conducted in both ears at a distance of 5 meters. If hearing is below 2 meters in both ears, hearing aids are used for retesting. If retesting remains below 5 meters, the candidate is disqualified. The distance for hearing aid tests is marked with a "+" in the examination form.
(9) Olfactory function: Normal discrimination is achieved with vinegar, alcohol, and water. Diminished discrimination is noted if only 1–2 substances are identified, and complete loss occurs if none are identified. (Candidates with colds during the examination are required to retest after one week.)
Lifestyle Advice: Check a standard from Shandong—hope it helps.
