Features: The flute, undoubtedly one of the oldest musical instruments in human history. As early as 1977, bone flutes and bone pipes unearthed by Chinese archaeologists in the Hemudu site of Zhejiang Province were declared to be over 7,000 years old. Recently, bone flutes unearthed in Jiahu County, Wuyang, Henan Province, have been scientifically determined to be over 9,000 years old. With its beautiful tone, rich expressiveness, and portability, the flute has been favored by the working people of China for thousands of years. It is clear that the flute is one of the most widely accessible and culturally representative musical instruments in China. The Flute Examination Course was commissioned by the Music Examination of Hubei Art Vocational College and was compiled by the author based on years of teaching and performing experience, while also incorporating feedback from numerous professional and amateur teachers, as well as referencing popular examination repertoire books in recent years. Levels 1-3 are for beginners, levels 4-7 are for intermediate learners, and levels 8-10 are for advanced learners. Each level is accompanied by five solo pieces with sheet music. Additionally, to expand the scope of repertoire for each level, the author has included an Index of Same-Level Pieces. The pieces selected in the index are equally valid for examinations. From levels 1 to 7, each level includes two basic technique exercises, which are mandatory for the examination. This book progresses from simple to complex, systematically guiding students to master examination content. The course includes chord and keyboard reference diagrams, a table for tone name translations, an automatic rhythm name translation table, a comparison table of common musical terms, a chord and keyboard reference table, and a comprehensive chord table.
