Features: "The Roster of the People's Liberation Army Commanders," which compiles the resumes and photos of marshals and generals promoted to rank between 1955 and 1964. The book is published in volumes. Marshals and generals are arranged according to the official list released at the time. Others are ordered by seniority from general to lieutenant general, and within the same rank, by stroke order of surnames. Generals promoted between 1955 and 1964, including those promoted after 1988 (inclusive) with higher ranks than those before, are introduced in the text but not reflected in the roster order. The volume includes 10 marshals, 10 generals, 57 lieutenant generals, and 177 colonels. 1360 lieutenant colonels are divided between the second and third volumes.
