Some problems with the genitalia

Patient's question:

I have had an experience where a sex worker gave me a hand job. It has been a few months now, and my glans and foreskin are slightly red and swollen. The foreskin is also retracted, and this condition has persisted for several months. Other than that, there is no other discomfort. What could be the problem?

Doctor's answer:

Hello, based on your description, it is possible that you may have balanitis. Initially, balanitis presents with local redness, a sense of heat and itching. Infection of balanitis is generally caused by poor hygiene or an overly long foreskin with insufficient cleaning, leading to inflammation of the local mucosa due to unclean substances between the foreskin and the glans. Clinically, it primarily manifests as dampness, redness, swelling, heat, and pain on the glans and foreskin, with symptoms worsening after friction, accompanied by symptoms such as urinary urgency and dysuria. If left untreated, the glans and foreskin may develop erosion and ulcers, accompanied by creamy, foul-smelling purulent discharge. In severe cases, gangrene may occur, and it may also lead to prostatitis and infertility.
