How can you determine if you have excessive foreskin?

Patient's question:

Usually, when soft, the head of the penis is not exposed, but it can be flipped open with the hand.

Doctor's answer:

If the foreskin can be retracted to expose the glans, but the foreskin opening is very small, covering the external urethral orifice, it is called phimosis. If, in adulthood, the foreskin opening is narrowed, or the foreskin is still attached to the glans, the foreskin cannot be retracted, nor can the urethral orifice or glans be exposed, it is then called paraphimosis.
