Features: This study adopts perspectives from history, philosophy, and education, employing a historical and dialectical stance, viewpoint, and methodology. By delving into the evolution of the relationship between humanities and science education in Western universities, it discusses the necessity, inevitability, and feasibility of integrating humanities and science education in universities from the perspectives of human subjectivity and knowledge forms. It also outlines the pathways for their integration. Based on this, by analyzing the historical and current relationship between humanities and science education in Chinese universities, it proposes several constructive ideas for advancing their integration. From the perspective of human subjectivity, the Greeks emphasized the balanced development of reason and irrationality, but leaned toward rational development. From the perspective of knowledge forms, science and humanities are like spring orchids and autumn chrysanthemums, each with its strengths. Scientific knowledge has its own characteristics, and so does humanistic knowledge.
