Features: Danger and insurance are eternal topics in the process of social development. Historically, dangers were mainly limited to natural risks, while in modern society, both the types and scale of risks have undergone significant and profound changes. Historically, the consequences of dangers were primarily handled through individual or family self-protection, whereas in modern society, the consequences of dangers are mainly addressed through socialized insurance mechanisms. This book covers a very broad range of topics, including specialized fields such as commercial insurance, social insurance, and policy insurance between the two, as well as fields such as finance, law, mathematics, and even disaster science. This book is based on the concept of broad insurance, with an emphasis on systematic coherence, but the focus remains on the theory and operational practices of commercial insurance. The book is divided into five major parts: Introduction, Basic Principles of Insurance, Types of Insurance, Insurance Operations, and Insurance Regulation. The first part, starting from logic and history, focuses on elaborating on the theory of danger and the development process of insurance. The second part emphasizes the introduction of various schools of insurance thought, insurance concepts, the mathematical foundation of insurance, insurance principles, insurance contracts, insurance markets, and the relationship between insurance and the economy. The third part divides insurance into three main categories: commercial insurance, social insurance, and policy insurance. The fourth part, following the sequence of insurance business operations, provides in-depth introductions to various aspects of insurance operations, including risk development, business underwriting, loss prevention and claims handling, insurance funds, and insurance investment. It focuses on explaining the practical knowledge and skills of each operational stage, especially by comparing insurance investment with insurance business, revealing the inevitable laws of modern insurance industry development. The fifth part, from the perspective of regulation, emphasizes the importance of supervision for the smooth operation of the insurance mechanism.
