Features: Those books are already very old, yet they continue to be passed from the hands of the children in this small fishing village, showing no signs of stopping. The book covers are not particularly attractive, and many of them or the pages inside bear dark red stains—the marks left by blood that has clotted and cooled. That year, a petite female teacher arrived in the dilapidated fishing village. She came with a face filled with disappointment and sorrow, for the place was truly remote, even beyond her imagination. The sea in front of the village was beautiful, but the sea and the Pearl River behind it separated this small village from the outside world. Before coming here, the teacher had never imagined that such a place, not far from the provincial capital, could be so isolated. "Teacher, welcome!" A girl in neat clothes, wearing a red scarf, stood at the school gate to greet the teacher. Walking through the gate, a warm chorus of cheers greeted her—each student held a handmade wreath, forming two rows and shouting, "Welcome, welcome, a warm welcome!"
