Features: This comprehensive reference book, integrating anthology, commentary, and lookup functions, has become an essential tool for students and literary enthusiasts due to its collection of the essence of Chinese literature, as well as its accessible and richly informative content. To meet the needs of readers with varying cultural backgrounds, a compact series of literary appreciation dictionaries has been compiled based on the original dictionary, selecting renowned masterpieces, retaining some appendices, and revising them. This book includes the works of approximately 91 poets from the Han, Wei, and Six Dynasties periods, totaling 218 poems. They are generally arranged in the order of Lü Qinli's Poetry of Pre-Qin, Han, Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties. The principle is to pair each poem with a separate commentary article, though some works are discussed together. The book uses simplified characters, with traditional characters or variant characters used when ambiguity arises. Difficult phrases in the poems are generally explained within the commentary articles, with occasional annotations at the end for specific cases. Historical dates related to ancient history are generally presented in the old calendar system, with corresponding Common Era dates included in parentheses. The Common Era dates in parentheses usually omit the word "year."
