Features: This comprehensive reference book, integrating selection, analysis, and lookup functions, has become an essential tool for students and literature enthusiasts due to its collection of the essence of Chinese literature, as well as its clear and in-depth explanations and rich materials. To meet the needs of readers with different cultural backgrounds, this series is a revised version of the original reference book, selecting outstanding works, retaining some appendices, and reorganizing the content. This book includes 292 poems by 198 modern and contemporary poets. They are generally arranged in chronological order. As a rule, each poem is accompanied by a separate analysis, though some works are discussed together. The book uses simplified characters, with traditional characters or variant forms used when necessary to avoid ambiguity. Difficult or ambiguous phrases in the poems are usually explained within the analysis, with occasional annotations at the end. Historical dates related to ancient history are generally presented in the old calendar system, with corresponding Gregorian dates included. The Gregorian dates in parentheses usually omit the word "year."
