Features: In the early 20th century, China rose a great cultural giant. From a young age, he loved listening to beautiful folk tales, drawing, and reading classic works such as Shan Hai Jing and Journey to the West. He craved new knowledge, yearned for a better life, and began to doubt the traditional feudal rituals. The decline of his family made him deeply experience the harsh realities of the world and also more profoundly feel the simplicity, kindness, and hardships of the working people. At the age of 18, he left his hometown to study in Nanjing. The new intellectual trends moved his passionate heart and inspired him to seek the truth to save the nation and its people. A few years later, he went to Japan to study medicine but later abandoned it to pursue literature, determined to promote arts and culture. With his pen, he aimed to awaken the numb and change their thoughts, spirits, and all old morals and habits. He lived a life of hardship and simplicity throughout his life but studied diligently and worked hard, leaving behind a precious spiritual legacy for future generations. He is a towering mountain, a vast ocean. His character and spirit are an inexhaustible treasure trove of our nation, a spiritual source from which our descendants can draw endlessly. He is the soul of literature—Lu Xun.
