Features: The "Solfège Tutor" series, edited by Henry Lemoine (Henry Lemoine) and Gustave Carouli, consists of ten volumes, compiling a large number of works by classical and modern composers in monophonic, duophonic, triphonic, and tetraphonic forms. Each volume is systematically categorized by difficulty, progressing from simple to advanced: the first to the third part of the fifth volume are monophonic; the sixth to the second part of the ninth volume are duophonic, triphonic, and tetraphonic; the tenth volume includes lyrics and is a comprehensive and practical solfège tutor. Due to its scientific and rational classification and its progressive arrangement from easy to difficult, it is not only suitable for music beginners or enthusiasts as an introductory tool but also for music college students and music professionals for advanced studies. This series adopts seven clefs: the Sol clef on the second line; the Do clefs on the second, third, and fourth lines; and the Fa clefs on the third and fourth lines. In addition to the second-line Sol clef and the fourth-line Fa clef, which are almost universally used by music students, other clefs are also employed: for example, the cello requires the fourth-line Do clef, the viola requires the third-line Do clef, and vocal music requires male voices to be familiar with the fourth-line Do clef, while female voices need to master the second and third-line Do clefs. Additionally, composers and conductors should fully master the reading skills of all seven clefs for transposition reading during score study. In summary, after the five-line staff incorporates these seven clefs, each line and its upper and lower ledger lines can represent the central Do. As a result, it can be used for notation of vocal or instrumental music across various ranges and serves as an effective tool for transposition reading. Music students, according to their professional needs, can partially or fully master the reading skills of these seven clefs. This "Tutor" series provides practical arrangements tailored to these aspects.
