The authors of this book undertook the "Scientific Pigeon Rearing" key science and technology development and promotion project from 1981 to 1984, commissioned by the Science and Technology Commission of the Liuzhou Region (the only pigeon research project in Guangxi), conducting in-depth research on how to rear young pigeons with high quality and efficiency. From 1988 to 1990, the authors served as China's first pigeon rearing expert to assist Africa, traveling to Gabon to carry out a pigeon rearing technology cooperation project, which was widely welcomed by the people of Gabon.
Starting from the booming reality of pigeon farming in China and even the world, this book compiles the latest domestic and international technologies in pigeon rearing, highlighting high-efficiency production. In addition to providing detailed introductions to the origin, life habits, growth, reproduction, feed formulations, health sand preparation, nutrient production, and common pigeon diseases of pigeons, it also comprehensively discusses the management techniques for high-efficiency pigeon farming. Notably, the theories of artificial domestication and nutrient production of pigeons are published domestically for the first time.
The text throughout is simple and accessible, with strong readability and practicality, making it suitable not only for pigeon farmers and enthusiasts but also as a vocational training textbook.
