Features: Rice is an important staple crop in China. The planting area of rice in China accounts for about 30% of the total area of grain crops, and the yield of rice grains makes up more than 40% of the total grain output. Therefore, rice production, whether it is the increase in single-crop yield, the growth in total output, or the improvement in quality, holds a pivotal position. With the development of the economy and the improvement of people's living standards, people's dietary habits have shifted from the past "just seeking to be full" to "requiring to eat well," and the demand for rice quality is becoming increasingly high. In the past period, to address the issue of food security, quantity was emphasized over quality, and there were not many high-quality rice varieties. In recent years, efforts have been intensified to produce high-quality rice, and many new high-yield, high-quality, and stress-resistant high-quality rice varieties have been selected and screened across various regions. The introduction of these varieties will promote the development of high-quality rice production in China. To better introduce these high-quality rice varieties to the market and promote them to the public, we have written the book "High-Quality Rice Superior Varieties and High-Yield Cultivation Techniques" in conjunction with the implementation of the Seed Engineering program. This book is one of the series of books on the "Seed Engineering" program and serves as reference material for leaders at all levels, agricultural technical personnel, and the general public to understand and select high-quality rice varieties. The book uses simple and easy-to-understand language to introduce the origin, characteristics, yield performance, as well as the environmental factors affecting rice quality and high-quality, high-yield cultivation techniques in a clear and concise manner.
