Features: Recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) and special aquatic animal farming require low investment, quick results, and high returns, making them a good way to increase income, improve livelihoods, and achieve poverty alleviation and wealth creation. Currently, the aquaculture and special aquatic animal farming industries are developing rapidly, like bamboo shoots after spring rain. However, fish living in complex aquatic environments are prone to diseases due to poor management, water quality deterioration, and various pest and disease infestations, which can lead to frequent outbreaks of fish diseases and even mass fish deaths, severely hindering aquaculture production. To meet the needs of, we have collected, summarized, and selected methods based on years of practical experience in fish disease prevention and control, and have compiled this book. The book is divided into two main parts: diseases of recirculating aquaculture fish and diseases of special aquatic animals. Recirculating aquaculture fish include large-scale pond-raised fish such as salmonids, eels, silver crucian carp, and loaches; special aquatic animals include bullfrogs, soft-shelled turtles, crabs, and yellow catfish. The book introduces more than 120 common infectious diseases, parasitic diseases, and non-biological diseases in these farmed fish. Each disease is described in detail, including symptom identification, harm, and causation, with a focus on introducing new and effective prevention measures and treatment prescriptions, particularly highlighting traditional Chinese herbal medicine prescriptions. The content is well-organized, (illustrated with text and images), easy to understand, and serves as a reference for aquaculture personnel, fish disease prevention and control workers, and students and teachers of aquaculture-related majors in universities and colleges.
