Features: With the continuous improvement of people's living standards, there is an increasing demand from urban and rural residents for the year-round supply of various harmless fresh vegetables. However, vegetable production is greatly affected by climatic conditions and cultivation systems, leading to seasonal fluctuations in production and supply. In southern regions, which are in a subtropical area, vegetables can be cultivated all year round, but under conventional cultivation conditions, a considerable portion of vegetable varieties still struggle to survive winter or summer production. Especially after June and July, when the region enters a period of high temperature, high humidity, and strong sunlight, many vegetables find it difficult to maintain seedlings and normal growth, resulting in a "late autumn" scenario characterized by a monotonous variety and a decline in quantity in vegetable production and supply. To address this issue, a large number of scientific and technical personnel and vegetable farmers have adapted to local conditions, vigorously developed off-season vegetable production, and improved vegetable production management levels, elevating the scale and efficiency of vegetable production to a new stage. The development and application of off-season, harmless vegetable production technology have become one of the important pathways for comprehensive agricultural development and rural poverty alleviation. This booklet, compiled and written by researchers from the Guangzhou Vegetable Science Research Institute and technical personnel in Hezhou City based on years of research results and production experience, primarily introduces the summer and autumn off-season, harmless production technologies of representative vegetable varieties such as tomatoes, peppers, Chinese cabbage, celery, and melons, catering to the practical needs of large-scale development of summer and autumn off-season, harmless vegetable production in southern regions in recent years. It is hoped that readers will find some inspiration and assistance after reading this booklet.
