How is edema treated?

Patient's question:

Both feet have a certain degree of edema. Is hard edema serious for infants? Is it easy to treat? How long is the general treatment time?

Doctor's answer:

(1) Rewarm the body to restore or bring the body temperature back to normal or near-normal range. Radiation isolation beds or warm rooms can be used. If such equipment is not available, the room temperature should be warm. The room temperature should be 24 degrees Celsius. The entire body should be wrapped with thick blankets. Place a hot water bag on the soles of the feet, but do not place it too close to the skin to avoid burns.
(2) Provide adequate water and heat to improve blood circulation, enhance metabolic function, and increase heat production.
(3) Correct acidosis and regenerate. Children with hard edema often suffer from acidosis.
(4) Children with hard edema should be given antibiotic treatment. Children with hard edema often have infections and should receive intravenous antibiotics.
