Features: The Anxiantang Da Wen is a representative work of Zhu Youxin, written in a note-taking style and question-and-answer format, compiled from the author's lectures and responses. Its purpose is to "guide the direction of students" and "seek the common path of both the sage and the ordinary." The discussions on political, economic, military, cultural, and educational issues are "pure, upright, and thorough," with many unique insights. However, his satire of democracy, opposition to mechanization, and criticism of Western medicine and music reveal the conservative side of Zhu Youxin's worldview. This book is based on the Guangya edition published in February 1895 (the 21st year of the Guangxu reign) and supplemented with the Qizhou Congdao body published in July 1896. Errors in the printing, taboo characters, and particularly rare variant characters have been corrected as needed. Since this book only has volume divisions without titles, it is inconvenient for reference. Therefore, we have compiled an index for readers to consult.
