Chronology of Chiang Kai-shek

Author: compiled by the Second Historical Archives of China
Publisher:
Publish Date: 1992-12-01
Features: This book is based on the secret manuscript "Early Draft of the Chronology of General Chiang Kai-shek" written by Mao Sicheng, Chiang Kai-shek's early teacher, and compiled with reference to the records in "Chiang Kai-shek Before 1925." The original text retains the handwritten deletions made by Chiang Kai-shek in the secret manuscript. It holds extremely important historical value. Mao Sicheng's "Early Draft of the Chronology of General Chiang Kai-shek" (1887-1926) adopts a "Spring and Autumn Annals" style of obfuscating faults and exaggerating virtues in its historical accounts, glorifying Chiang Kai-shek while concealing or distorting the truth of major historical events (such as the Zhongshan Incident). Therefore, to use this "Chronology" as a valuable source for studying Chiang Kai-shek, it is necessary to briefly introduce some important historical events in his half-life.
