Features: This book primarily aims to help newcomers to foreign countries recognize various graphic signs and symbols, enabling them to adapt more quickly to life in foreign societies. At the same time, it seeks to foster exchange and promote the development of public information graphic signs in China. With the deepening of reform and opening-up, the pace at which various aspects of Chinese social life align with international standards has been accelerating. In recent years, China has made significant progress in the design, production, use, and promotion of public graphic information signs. How to make these signs more widely and deeply integrated into all aspects of Chinese social life, and how to further align their design and use with national customs and global trends to better meet international standards, are issues worthy of serious study. The many specific materials provided in this book, though primarily limited to New York, USA, offer valuable inspiration and references. The U.S. government has established certain regulations for the design and use of graphic signs, along with a set of management systems and laws. Not only are there numerous professional companies specializing in graphic sign design, production, and operation, but there is also a strong professional team involved. Some designers even conduct scientific research on signs, while others have written and published specialized works. These aspects are even more deserving of our attention. Given that the primary purpose of this book is to introduce how to identify and use graphic signs, other issues are not covered here.
