Features: "Advanced Japanese" (Volume 1 and 2) is a Japanese advanced reading textbook jointly written by teachers from Nankai University's School of Foreign Languages and Tianjin University of Foreign Languages. It is designed for undergraduate students of Japanese (including self-taught students). This book is the second volume, consisting of 20 lessons. It includes four main parts: main text, vocabulary list, sentence patterns and grammar, word formation, and "Self-Challenge" exercises. The "Self-Challenge" exercises are self-assessment activities that cover vocabulary, grammar, and content, serving as reinforcement and evaluation of the learned material. During the writing process of this book, we adhered to four principles. In selecting the main text material, we followed the principle of keeping the textbook up-to-date, ensuring the lessons are both contemporary and practical. Second, we emphasized the cultivation of pragmatic skills and aimed to build a solid foundation. Third, we focused on developing versatile skills, with difficulty levels tailored to the level of undergraduate Japanese majors in ordinary universities, specifically third-year students. In terms of content, we implemented a diverse approach, including essays, short stories, argumentative writings, movie narratives, and reviews, to broaden the scope of knowledge covered and enhance practicality. Additionally, we paid attention to helping students gain a deeper understanding of Japanese society, culture, traditions, and customs during the learning process. Fourth, we emphasized the integration of learned knowledge with China's practical realities, meeting the needs of quality education.
